Achille Legnazzi è nato il 15/11/1950 a Sannazzaro dei Burgondi (Pavia) - Italia.
Ha sempre sostenuto di dover un particolare ringraziamento ai suoi genitori per non avergli mai impedito di dedicarsi allo studio della batteria.
Batterista per passione, farmacista di professione, ha scoperto per la prima volta la curiosità per questo strumento ai tempi della scuola quando si accorse che un suo compagno tamburellava continuamente sul banco anziché seguire le lezioni, facendogli credere di essere un bravo musicista.
Da allora il suo interesse per questo strumento aumentò a tal punto da stimolarlo ad approfondirne lo studio.
Dai sedici anni in poi ha fatto parte di numerosi gruppi del rock pavese, producendo musica di buon livello.
In seguito è passato al jazz tradizionale suonando con diversi gruppi ma dedicando molti anni alla RIVERBOAT STOMPERS JAZZ BAND, di cui fa ancora parte e con la quale ha partecipato ad importanti appuntamenti nazionali ed internazionali. Fra questi i più significativi sono stati: il “Sacramento Dixieland Jubilee” – USA; il “Traditional Jazz Festival” – LUGANO (Svizzera); il “New Orleans Jazz Festival” – S. RAPHAEL (Francia); “l’International Dixieland Festival” – DRESDA (Germania) e molti altri ancora.
Ha inoltre partecipato ad alcune serate jazz organizzate dalla Televisione Italiana, tra cui: “l’International Doc Club” condotta da Renzo Arbore.
Occasionalmente collabora con musicisti swing esibendosi in più contesti concertistici.
Dal marzo 2003 ha iniziato un nuovo percorso musicale con la “MILANO HOT JAZZ ORCHESTRA”, con la quale ha suonato nei più noti jazz festival in Europa ed USA.
Da diversi anni fa parte della TICINUM JAZZ BAND, i cui musicisti di spicco sono Paolo Tomelleri, Carlo Bagnali, Alfredo Ferrario.
É componente attivo della PAVIA JAZZ ORCHESTRA con la quale si è esibito in Argentina, Uruguay e Marocco registrando il CD Besame Mucho. Suona con il nuovo quintetto di Claudio e Filippo Perelli: THE SWIG LEGACY.

Achille Legnazzi was born on the 15th November 1950 in Sannazzaro de’ Burgundi (Pavia –Italy).
He has always declared that he is eternally grateful to his parents, for they have never tried to stop him studying the drums.
An amateur drummer but a pharmacist by profession, he was first struck by a curiosity for the drums, watching one of his schoolmates who used to play the drum over the school bench, pretending to be a good musician.
Since then, an interest for that instrument grew to the point that Achille decided to immerse himself in the study of drums.
Since he was sixteen, he has played with several rocks band in the Pavia province.
Later, he shifted his interest to traditional jazz and played in various bands, for many years, with the Riverboat Stompers Jazz Band, which is still his favourite, having played with them for important national and international festivals.
Among thoe pieces he has played, of particular importance were: “Sacramento Dixieland Jubilee” –USA; the “Traditional Jazz Festival” Lugano (Swiss), the “New Orleans Jazz Festival”, S. Raphael (France); the “International Dixieland Festival” Dresden (Germany), just to name a few.
Achille has also been involved in occasional Italian television Jazz evenings, notably the “International Doc Club” hosted by Renzo Arbore.
Achille occasionally co-operates with swing musicians by playing in different types of concerts.
Since March 2003, he has kicked off on a new musical path along with the “Milan Hot Jazz Orchestra”.
Achille is also the drummer of Pavia Jazz Orchestra, with this Band he played concerts in Argentina, Uruguay and Morocco and made the CD Besame Mucho. Achille plays drums in The Swing Legacy jazz group, leaded by Filippo and Claudio Perelli.
